Answer Health on Demand and Great Lakes Health Connect have partnered together to develop a health information exchange platform for the sharing of health information and medical records while treating patient with telemedicine.
By expanding this service to Michigan patients, AHOD providers will be able to review patient records and follow up with visit summaries which can be viewed by patient’s primary care physician. Reaching the standards set by Patient Centered Medical Home incentive programs, leads this HIE platform in providing high quality care in a convenient telehealth location.
“AHOD is very optimistic about the potential the collaboration with GLHC will provide our patients, as well as our member practices,” said John Deveau, DO, MPH, Medical Director at Answer Health on Demand. “Patients are becoming more active participants in their own health care, as evidenced by their increasing participation in telehealth, and engagement with organizations like AH, that provide them greater flexibility with their health care. This mobility is wanted by patients and needed by doctors and care networks. Partnering with GLHC allows patients and providers to work together to optimize care and control costs, while insuring accurate and secure transfer of their health information and greater collaboration between providers. And this is better for patients, as well as the people and organizations caring for patients.”
