Novo Nordisk, a global healthcare technology company, and Glooko, a diabetes data management platform, have partnered to develop the Cornerstones4Care Powered (C4C) mobile application, assisting diabetes patients in managing their disease by offering personalized patient support with a digital platform.
The app, which is currently available for free at Apple and Google online stores, provides patients with a new method for managing their diabetes. With an easily measurable and trackable interface for blood glucose, activity and meals, the app syncs data from multiple devices. The app also identifies trends in the patient’s routine to understand effects on blood glucose levels to provide personalized resources to support patients' individual needs.
"More people than ever are using mobile apps for chronic disease management, and the apps, like the new C4C app, go beyond data capture or tracking to providing insights and recommendations based on that data,” said Rick Altinger, CEO of Glooko. “By leveraging the expertise and capabilities of Glooko, combined with Cornerstones4Care content, we were able to build a truly unique app to better support people with diabetes." He added, "Ultimately our digital health solution will help health care practitioners gain round-the-clock insight into their patients, and empower people with diabetes to better manage their diabetes, with the aim of ultimately leading to better diabetes management outcomes."
