NEW YORK, NY-May 24, 2016 - pingmd, Inc., a leading patient communication platform for healthcare, has announced the appointment of Susan Driscoll as president and CEO. Driscoll brings to pingmd deep operational expertise and nearly a decade of healthcare experience in her new role. Dr. Gopal K. Chopra, co-founder and former CEO of pingmd will remain in an active role as chairman, focusing on innovation and growth initiatives.
All who engage with healthcare including patients and care teams understand the frustration that comes from playing telephone tag, engaging in multiple phone calls to get complete information, and waiting for answers. By simplifying the process of patient reporting and enabling care teams to efficiently collaborate with each other, pingmd makes it easy for issues to be escalated and information to be shared. The result is reduced response time, coordinated action, and increased patient satisfaction.
“Susan has held senior roles in marketing, sales, operations and product commercialization. She has the combination of leadership qualities and breadth of experience to lead pingmd in this high growth marketplace,” said Chopra. “We are delighted she has joined the pingmd team.”
Most recently, Driscoll served as the CEO of the Professional & Education division of Wolters Kluwer Health.
“Nurses and doctors were our primary customers at Wolters Kluwer, and I saw how communication challenges impact productivity and affect the quality and timeliness of care,” said Driscoll. “Throughout my career I have focused on the use of technology to deliver better outcomes, and our customers speak to the improvements that pingmd provides. I am thrilled to be working with Dr. Chopra to make pingmd the go-to solution for one of the most vexing problems in healthcare.”
Driscoll is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and is Chair of the Advisory Council for the Snite Museum of Art at Notre Dame. She is based in the pingmd office in New York.
